With the announcement of D3 I, and many, many, others have returned to D2 to get our game on once again. so this guide is a followup to my last one, which you can read here: http://community.purevanity.net/showthread.php?t=324 Now, going this route you have a couple diff options, if you've already leveled a char and geared it up well, you could use that to do the rushing, or get rushed for forge for each difficulty. basically heres how this happens, step1: you get rushed to act 5 step2: you will need a char of proper level that can do the baal quest (prereq for that char and only that char, is doing ancients) as the lvl 1 being rushed you dont have to worry about ancients OR, join/make a game to kill baal for quest ie something like "baal 4 quest" you must group, and wait in town, the people doing the quest will be down there with baal and you will get credit from town for the kill. now you're ready for nightmare, rinse and repeat for nightmare, once you're in hell you only have to go as far as act5, dont worry about baal. now you have 2 options for the power leveling, hell chaos runs (which ill touch base more in a sec) or uber trist leech spot runs. uber tristram leech spots typically cost you something in some form or another, whether it be forum gold from jsp, or keysets/organ sets or something, they have a buy in. the xp with uber trist is crazy fast, we're talking 1-80 within 2 hours. you can even take this further and level as far as you want to, its really a matter of how long do you wanna sit there. ok, onto chaos runs, these runs are free, the trouble is finding games, in my experience the levels go something like this 1-12 or so first game, 12-16 second game, it slows down from here for a few levels but its still pretty fast, somewhere around 30 it starts speeding up again and goes to 50 pretty fast, this route will take you from 1 to 70 in probably around 10-15 games total. at which point you can get some help on the ancients quest (you can do this at 60) and do baal runs from there. the game list is a very tedious method of trying to find chaos runs, I would recommend finding a clan channel thats doing them, if you play on useast a good one to join is 'clan chx' (click the chat button and then click channel to change channels, type in clan chx) the bots will spam game names and passwords as they are created, be fast though as those games fill up QUICK. another channel on useast that I havnt had as much luck with is clan ggc, try them if nothing is happening in clan chx. good luck!
just a followup for anyone using this approach. ive started playing (again), and found a clan channel on useast called 'clan ant' it has hell chaos and baal bots in it, their chaos bot is a lvl 98 pally, suffice to say that shit is pretty quick. (channel was active as of may 18 2009)
